MAJOR DEVELOPING NEWS - AGM 2022 Proposals submitted

There is a huge development in our campaign for members to be allowed to elect their own representatives!

Following the last AGM in which the club said they would welcome Members volunteering to help the club, we made a considerable effort to encourage and find Members willing to do so. Our successful campaign found a number of candidates, including an excellent Member who has significant experience in the NHS and was keen to help the club improve its services for disabled Members, something the Chairman promised at the AGM. The idea of finding a number of candidates was to give the Nominations Committee a wide choice of Members with different skills. We tried to put these names forward to the club but it seems the club was not willing to consider these candidates.

Two resolutions have been submitted for discussion and vote at the 2022 AGM :

1. “The Board, taking account of similar best practice in other first class counties, implements and oversees a process for member-nominated and member-elected appointments to the Members’ Representative Group for all future vacancies.”

2. “The members would like the nominations committee to ensure that there are at all times two board members who have been chosen for their quality, skills and experience in member services and member communications and to use their best endeavours to find a choice of suitable candidates for the membership to vote on at the AGM when a vacancy on the board in these areas arises.”

It is important to note that 2021 members can vote even if you decide not to renew in 2022. Voting can be by post or in person at the AGM. Last year only 42 members attended the AGM. Let's make a big effort to go and have our voice heard!

Importantly, we also have the support of the influential national Cricket Supporters Association (CSA) who have recently released this statement alongside their regular newsletter where they also announced that the ECB had agreed to work with the CSA on the changes to be made in the game after the recent Select Committee hearing. Please take a minute to read the statement.

We are also pleased to announce that for the first time a winter edition of 'Not The Spin' will go on sale shortly for delivery in the New Year.

We will send out another newsletter shortly to confirm purchase details etc. It will remain at just £2 plus packing & postage.

As ever we welcome all comments on any of the above. Please email us your thoughts and of course you can follow us on social media through our private facebook page at 'Lancashire Cricket Action Group' where we have over 800 members and via our twitter account  at @lancscccaction where we have over 3,500 followers.

Thank you,
